PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

We seek an enthusiastic, team-oriented, problem solver to join our accounting team to assist with critical accounting functions. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your analytical skills, where you can collaborate with others inside and outside of the Finance organization and to integrate some of the operational processes to improve the accounting close.  The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented and self-directed. In addition, excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to document and present accounting conclusions in a clear and persuasive manner, are a must.  The role will report to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for month end close activities and processes, tax support, financial reporting, and analysis, as well as other financial systems support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare month-end financial statements and assist with management analysis and reporting
  • Collaborate with business partners to align operational processes to month-end close procedures
  • Provide analytical support for quarter-end trend and budget variances and reporting
  • Responsible for a timely month-end close, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Recommend improvements to streamline and/or automate month-end journal entries and processes to enable a 5-day close
  • Responsible for tax compliance including the filing of sales and use tax, property, payroll tax and 1099 filings
  • Work with external tax consultant to file timely income tax returns
  • Responsible for all timely corporate registrations and licenses
  • Work with business partners to streamline and ensure accuracy of information from inventory management, sales order and purchasing systems
  • Develop and maintain inventory costing policies and procedures
  • Work with IT and other business partners to scope and implement Enterprise Resource Planning systems and other subsystems
  • Maintain and manage stock administration system
  • Support other projects as assigned
  • Accountable for building a strong safety culture and actively pursue it daily; identify unsafe behaviors and conditions and intervene to mitigate incidents
